With the awards for best foreign investors – FDI Award Slovenia – the Slovenian Government wants to recognise, reward and evaluate exceptional contributions of foreign investors in the Slovenian business environment.
Foreign investors are crucial for creating new jobs and providing an added value as well as for research and development, new technologies, and regional or international expansion.
This year’s award ceremony will be slightly different than usual – it will be more innovative but still connecting all of us. It will move to the world wide web where you will be able to meet this year's award recipients at a very special digital event.
“Research and scientific journalistic work of Prof. Adriana Rejc Buhovac, PhD focuses on the challenges of developing and implementing strategies. As a consultant, Adriana has worked with numerous international corporations, Slovenian companies, public institutions, municipalities and non-profit organizations in the field of developing and implementing sustainable strategies. She is also a member of the SPIRIT Slovenia expert group. She will share a visionary view of how important sustainable business models will be in the future.”
The presenter is best known for the documentary series “Čez planke” about people and places around the world that has been airing on Slovenian national television since 2001. During her travels, she also tackles more complex topics – from human rights to environmental issues, and thus strives to bring them closer to the people.
On behalf of the host and initiator of the awards, the digital audience will be officially addressed by Tomaž Kostanjevec, PhD. Later he will also present activities and services for foreign investors and key advantages of Slovenia.
We are honoured to have the Minister for Economic Development and Technology, Zdravko Počivalšek, as a keynote speaker of the FDI Award 2021 this year as well. The Ministry of Economic Development and Technology is in charge of foreign direct investment policy in Slovenia.
