Slovenia’s economy grew 5.0% annually (4.8% seasonally adjusted) in the second quarter of 2026, driven by domestic consumption and construction — the fastest pace since the first quarter of 2022. This is also the fastest growth among all the EU members for which the data is available. GDP rose 4.1% in the first half of 2026 versus 2025. Domestic demand increased 5.9%, with household consumption up 3.4%, led by durable goods (+10.1%). Gross fixed capital formation surged 13.2%, mainly from buildings (+19%). Construction value added peaked at 15.9%, the largest GDP growth contributor. Exports rose 6.4%, imports 7.6%, slightly reducing net growth.
