Sandoz, a global leader in affordable medicines, announced a €260 million investment in a new biosimilar drug substance facility in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Scheduled to open in 2029, the facility will feature four disposable fed-batch reactors, adding 8,000 litres of capacity for clinical and commercial manufacturing. This expansion strengthens Sandoz’s Europe-based biosimilar development and supply network and supports its Bio100 goal to capture a significant share of the biosimilar market. The new site complements a recently opened biosimilar development center in Ljubljana and enhances technology transfer, scale-up, and operational control.
