Slovenian power grid operator ELES joined forces with Siemens Energy in developing advanced digital technologies and smart solutions for the energy grid.
Slovenian power grid operator ELES (TOP300, rank 15) signed a memorandum of understanding with Siemens Energy to join forces in developing advanced digital technologies and smart solutions for the energy grid. The partners plan to cooperate in various augmented and virtual reality solutions, on usage of robots for inspecting transformer stations, and in creating digital twins of high-voltage transmission lines and distribution substations. The companies have been cooperating for over three decades. ELES with 600 employees and around 600 million euros of revenues is recognized as one of the most advanced grid operators with functioning a diagnostics and analytical center. Siemens Energy with close to 100,000 employees is present in 90 countries and annually invests over 1 billion euros in research and development.
