Sartorius, a German life science group, has announced its intention to establish a biotech campus in the town of Ajdovščina in Slovenia. The company plans to invest 9 million euros in the development of a multifunctional complex spanning 30,000 square meters, which will house production, research, and education facilities.
The plans were revealed in October during the 25th anniversary celebration of Bia Separations, a biotech company based in Ajdovščina that was acquired by Sartorius in 2020. Bia Separations is a global leader in technology for the purification and analysis of large biomolecules. The construction of the new facilities is scheduled to commence in early 2024 and is expected to create 200 new high-skill jobs, in addition to the existing 230 employees of Bia Separations.
