The Slovenian government and Renault car maker have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development and production of the Renault Twingo E-Tech electric cars at the Revoz plant in Novo mesto.
This agreement signed in July outlines potential government support for the new electric city car, ensuring the plant's future amid significant investments in advanced production processes.
With over 50 years of Renault vehicle production in Slovenia, the government's backing will facilitate the transition to electric vehicle manufacturing and bolster the country's automotive industry. Herbert Steiner, Vice-President for Renault Brand Industry, emphasized the partnership's success, stating that the Twingo E-Tech Electric, developed by Ampere, will begin production in Slovenia in 2026.
