Slovenian hybrid electric plane developer Pipistrel introduced a new vertical take off and landing (VTOL) cargo drone.
In February Slovenian hybrid electric plane developer Pipistrel introduced a new vertical take off and landing (VTOL) cargo drone, the Nuuva 300.
The drone uses electric motors for take off and landing while »forward propulsion comes from a reliable and efficient internal combustion engine offering unbeatable fuel economy and low maintenance costs«. The hybrid drone can carry payloads of close to 300 kilograms to distances up to 550 kilometres and could not only transform logistics but also play a crucial role in commercial and defense missions such as search and rescue, humanitarian aid, disaster relief and ship-to-shore deliveries.
Pipistrel is a part of US Textron group.
