In June NLB, the largest Slovenian bank, published a bid to take over Addiko Bank, with headquarters in Vienna and a network of over 150 branches in the Adriatic region. NLB is offering 20 euros per share and is aiming for an at least 75-percent stake in the bank. Addiko Bank operates assets of 6.2 billion euros and has around 300 million euros of revenues. The bank is listed on the Vienna stock exchange and has dispersed ownership. A successful bid would allow NLB to strengthen its position as the largest bank in Slovenia and one of the strongest players in the Adriatic region, being the third strongest bank in Serbia as well. In 2023, NLB’s total assets reached close to 26 billion euros. The bank has an over 10 percent share in six out of seven markets where it operates.
