The country won over reviewers with its combination of compactness and diversity, being "neither Balkan, Mediterranean, nor Alpine, Slovenia is more a cocktail of all three, served with its own distinct twist." Lonely Planet’s is the latest in a long series of recognitions of Slovenia as one of the most attractive tourist destinations.
