In October the Chinese owner of home appliances company Gorenje officially announced that it will launch the production of TV sets in January 2021.
The new plant will consist of four production lines and will start with the production of 2 million TV sets a year. The total capacity of the factory is around four million TV sets a year and should be reached by 2023. The production lines will be located in one of the existing factory buildings of Gorenje. Hisense plans to invest 7 million euros in the equipment for the four lines and employ 400 people. The group Hisense employs over 80,000 people and belongs among leading global producers of television sets, with 20 million units sold in 2019. The Chinese group acquired home appliances maker Gorenje in 2018.
