In the beginning of November last year Ljubljana hosted the third European Food Summit – a meeting of the top chefs, experts and scientists, winemakers, and specialized journalists from around the world.
The main topic of the last year's edition European Food Summit was “the importance of a sustainable approach to food and stepped-up responsibility in handling food”. As a result, the participants issued “The ‘Common-Sensitarian’ Food Culture Manifesto”, a document with the aim “to improve society’s attitudes towards nutrition and diets”.
According to one of the world’s 10 best chefs, Ana Roš from Hiša Franko, the event significantly contributed to the positioning of Slovenia on the gastronomical map, “where the country wants to be positioned and where it also belongs”.
