In February, Slovenian sports equipment company Elan introduced a revolutionary advancement in ski technology built around a system called Active Suspension Drive. The new Ace series of skis integrates two shock absorbers directly into the ski structure, “delivering race-car-like grip with less effort and more control.” The concept draws inspiration from Elan's own history — in 1993, Elan revolutionised skiing with the world's first fully parabolic sidecut (carving) ski (Carving 1.0). The new ACE technology represents Carving 2.0, taking that legacy further. Elan is one of the most innovative ski manufacturers. The 80-year-old company produces snowboards, yachts, and other sports equipment.
