The Austrian Herz Group is launching a €6.4 million investment in a new factory in Trbovlje, Slovenia. Integrated with artificial intelligence and high-level automation, the facility is scheduled for completion in early 2028. The expansion aims to boost Herz’s total Slovenian revenue to €100 million, up from its current €60 million.
According to Gerhard Glinzerer, President of the Board of the Herz Group, Slovenia was strategically chosen over Western European alternatives like Germany, Austria, or the Netherlands for several critical reasons. First, Slovenia retains a strong appreciation for the industry's role in societal development, and its young people actively choose engineering professions, securing a robust local talent pipeline. Additionally, factory setup and operational costs in Slovenia are significantly lower than in Western Europe, keeping Herz highly competitive against global rivals like Siemens and Danfoss. Led by director Damir Rutar, this highly automated facility will allow the company to expand production, meet rising sales demand, and introduce new manufacturing capabilities in plastics, stainless steel, and brass.
