Astra AI, the creator of an innovative AI-powered learning platform, has earned the title of Slovenian Startup of the Year 2025. Currently providing AI tutors for math, physics, chemistry, German, and English, Astra AI offers customized packages designed to meet various student needs, including final exam preparation for grammar school students. The company asserts that its specialized AI tutors provide superior accuracy to more general AI models like ChatGPT, backing this claim with a money-back guarantee for students who don't see improved grades.
The runners up include four companies: Arvio, Ergo Hide, Juicefast, and Lime Booking. Ergo Hide manufactures ergonomic office furniture, particularly modular and fully customizable desks. Juicefast produces healthy prepared meals using high pressure processing, a method that maintains freshness and taste without added chemicals. Arvio is a leading proptech company in Slovenia: its property evaluation tools are used by banks and insurance companies. Lime Booking is an appointment booking app and system made specifically for barbers, hair and beauty salons, and similar businesses.
The Slovenian Start Up of the Year Award ceremony was held in late May in Ljubljana. The event is organized by Start:Up Slovenia and supported by the government’s Slovenian Enterprise Fund.
