The startup scene in Slovenia is often overshadowed by those in larger European nations. Yet some companies have begun to regularly appear in various surveys of the best startups on the continent. Seedtable’s 121 Best EU start-ups to watch in 2022 includes two Slovenian companies, Viberate and Eligma. Viberate is a data platform for professional musicians that provides analytical and research tools and services like booking, payment, or contracting. Eligma creates a secure and seamless infrastructure for accepting crypto payments. Eligma was also a Slovenian finalist in last year’s Central European Start-ups Award. Two other finalists were Tobiar, a producer of massaging devices for the neck, and biotech company Pharsol, which focuses on bioreactors. The list of most valuable start-ups in Slovenia, published on the Failory website, includes Viberate, Eligma, the maker of mobile phone item finder Chipolo, unique blockchain-based supply chain system Origintrail, and genetic research company Gene Planet. Gene Planet was also one of the most promising young Slovenian companies in the article published on the Silicon Canals website. The article also mentioned – among others – GoOpti, a fast-growing demand-responsive transportation provider. Two other names that appear in international media: Iconomi, a platform for investment and management of digital assets, and Mediately, a mobile app for doctors and healthcare.
