Austrian food company Agrana has successfully completed the acquisition of the Slovenian food company Mercator-Emba in April. Located about 30 km southwest of Ljubljana, Mercator-Emba employs around 100 people and generates annual revenues of approximately €30 million. The company is a leading producer for out-of-home caterers, food processors, and retailers, known especially for cocoa-based instant products, syrups, and dessert toppings, mainly serving Central, Southern, and Eastern Europe. Agrana is a global leader in fruit preparations and juice concentrates, operates 37 production sites worldwide, and focuses on profitable growth in its Food & Beverage Solutions business. Mercator-Emba is Agrana's first production facility in Slovenia. The acquisition supports Agrana's growth strategy in the booming food service sector and expands the company's market reach in Europe.
