Slovenian Peter Andolšek is the overall winner of the 2023 International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics.
The world's best young astronomer is Peter Andolšek, a student from Ljubljana. Andolšek has won gold medals at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics for three consecutive years. At this year’s edition, held in Poland, he was nominated the overall winner of the competition. Andolšek also received the titles “best in observation” and “best in data analysis”. Over 250 students from 50 countries participated at the event. On top of Andolšek's gold, Slovenian students returned home with two silver medals and a bronze from various categories.
