In September, Hitachi Energy and ELES (transmission and distribution system operator of the Republic of Slovenia) signed a strategic cooperation agreement to develop advanced functionalities for transmission system control centres.
The 'Next Generation Control System' project builds on the development cooperation within the internationally recognised, award-winning NEDO project, which established the basis for the collaboration between ELES and Hitachi. It is a pivotal step in the development of advanced functionalities for transmission system control centres.
These functionalities include improved system connectivity and more transparent data exchange.
As part of the project, ELES and Hitachi Energy will develop three key next-generation functionalities:
The Next Generation Control System project is expected to last two years and is being developed and financed jointly by the two companies. ELES will invest its own funds in the improvements, while Hitachi Energy will develop and verify the agreed functionalities together with ELES. Hitachi Energy will later incorporate the new functionalities into its standard offering, Network Manager EMS.
