Investments by foreign companies in Slovenia grew at a moderate pace last year, slightly outpacing the growth seen in 2024, according to the latest report by the Bank of Slovenia. The value of inbound foreign direct investment (FDI) reached €24 billion by the end of 2025, marking a 4% increase—an acceleration compared to the previous year. Austria remains Slovenia’s largest investor, accounting for just under 21% of the total FDI value. Switzerland was followed by Germany, Croatia, and Italy in terms of investment growth. Meanwhile, Slovenian companies significantly increased their direct investments abroad, with outbound FDI rising by over 12% to reach €11.9 billion. The primary destinations for these investments continue to be countries in the Western Balkans.
