Terme Čatež spa more than doubles net profit in 2023

Čatež ob Savi, 30 April (STA) - The spa operator Terme Čatež recorded EUR 33.3 million in sales revenue in 2023, up by 5.7% compared to 2022. The net profit grew by 150% to EUR 2.1 million. The operating profit reached EUR 4.1 million. The spa recorded more than 650,000 nights in 2023 at its three locations, down by 4.1% compared to the year before.

The number of nights by foreign guests grew by 9.7%, while domestic guests spent 16.9% fewer nights at the spa than in 2022, the company's financial report reads.

The company was affected by the floods in August 2023, which meant a shortfall of more than 20,000 nights.

Still, the company was able to reach good business results and pursue its goals, the chairman of the board Bojan Petan wrote in the report.

Last year Terme Čatež completed several investments, including a renovation of a sauna park and conference halls and the construction of a trail around the spa complex. The company also successfully finalised the sale of the Portorož tennis centre to the Piran municipality.

The Terme Čatež group, which includes the subsidiary Del Naložbe, generated EUR 37.8 million in revenue last year and EUR 2.1 million in net profit.
