Survey unemployment back down to record low of 3.3% in July

Ljubljana, 29 August (STA) - Slovenia's survey unemployment stood at an estimated 3.3% in July, which is 0.1 percentage points lower than the revised figure for the previous month. The rate, measured since January 2010, is down 0.5 points year-on-year and is back to its record low from January and February this year, suggests fresh data from the Statistics Office.

Statisticians estimate some 34,000 people aged 15 to 74 were jobless in July, 54% of whom were men and 46% women.

The survey unemployment rate was at 3.3% for men and at 3.4% for women, suggest the figures, released on Thursday.

The Statistics office stressed again that the monthly survey unemployment estimates are model-based experimental statistics and as such not completely reliable. A record low of 3.1% had for instance been reported for June but later revised.
