Ljubljana, 16 May (STA) - The public agency Spirit Slovenija has approved EUR 24 million in co-financing for projects of 38 companies as part of a call for applications promoting large-scale investments for increased productivity and competitiveness under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The public call, which also aims to ensure sustainability of operations and decarbonisation and digitalisation of companies, was published last August, with EUR 11.6 million in co-funding originally made available.
Spirit Slovenija and the Economy Ministry announced on Friday that, given the great interest, the agency has managed to secure additional funds, or a total of EUR 24 million, which doubled the number of supported projects.
"The supported projects will have a significant impact on the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy and contribute to its long-term development and resilience," said Spirit Slovenija acting director Tamara Zajec Balažič.
The goals of the call include higher added value of products and services exported from Slovenia, and better positioning of Slovenian companies in global value chains.
The goal is also to preserve jobs with higher added value, strengthen global and local value chains, boost competitiveness of supply chain links, and ensure a more even regional distribution of investments.
