Petrol prices to decrease markedly

Ljubljana, 22 April (STA) - Prices of petrol sold outside the motorway network will decrease by some 8 cents on Wednesday, dropping to the values last seen in January and February 2024. A litre of regular petrol sold outside the motorway network will be 7.8 cents cheaper, at EUR 1.417. Diesel will go down by 8.1 cents to EUR 1.443 a litre.

The price of heating oil will also decrease, going down by 7.8 cents to EUR 1.036 a litre. The prices will remain in place until 5 May, the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy said on Tuesday.

In Slovenia, petrol prices outside the motorway network are regulated, while prices of petrol sold at pumps along motorways are set freely.

Duties will not change. The duty on regular petrol will remain at EUR 0.49693 and on diesel at EUR 0.45878. The duty on heating oil remains at EUR 0.19522.

Margins will also remain the same: EUR 0.0994 per litre of regular petrol, EUR 0.0983 per litre of diesel and 0.08 per litre of heating oil.

The ministry estimates that regular petrol would cost EUR 1.497 if it were not for the regulation, while a litre of diesel would cost EUR 1.525, and heating oil would cost EUR 1.140 a litre.

The ministry added that petrol prices in Slovenia would continue to be adjusted biweekly to prices of oil derivatives on the global market and the euro-dollar exchange rate.
