Loans worth EUR 512 million available to business this year

Ljubljana, 25 March (STA) - Slovenian businesses will have access to EUR 512 million in loans and financial instruments this year via the SID export and development bank, and the Slovenian Enterprise Fund. "The goal is to support company growth, development and operations," Economy Minister Matjaž Han said on Monday.

SID bank has EUR 335 million available this year for various types of loans, including EUR 235 million through various financial instruments and EUR 100 million in two funds of funds, which is set aside for microloans, energy efficiency investments and liquidity loans.

The Slovenian Enterprise Fund can disburse EUR 177 million in incentives for small business. They plan to support around 3,800 companies, which in turn is expected to lead to EUR 233 million in corporate investments.

"The role of the state is to react quickly to the needs of business. The pot is full, it is up to business to decide which products they will chose," Han said.
