Lelosi moves part of production to Slovenia

Murska Sobota, 16 April (STA) - Slovenian direct-to-consumer clothing brand Lelosi has moved some of its production to Slovenia. Lelosi products, starting with Bermuda shorts, will be produced in Murska Sobota on the site of a defunct textile factory.

This is an important strategic decision that strengthens the company's commitment to local development and reducing dependence on foreign suppliers, said Lelosi's owner, the Kamnik-based company Uvecto. The company also wants to improve quality control and better adapt to the needs of the market.

Uvecto is starting production in a building of the former textile factory Mura, which used to be the country's flagship brand in the textile industry and employed more than 2,000 workers.

"We believe in the knowledge that is present here and we want to create an environment where textile manufacturing can be a source of pride once again," Uvecto founder Matej Slapnik said.

Uvecto plans to expand production gradually in the next months with a focus on its more complex products.

Employees are still being trained on the new materials, processes and technologies, the company said, adding that production is still in the implementation phase.

Lelosi is best known for leggings and is primarily a direct-to-consumer company, though it has four brick-and-mortar outlets.

The company is hugely successful and its revenue increased from EUR 5.7 million in 2020 to EUR 57.8 million in 2023, when the company recorded EUR 6.8 million in net profit.

Until now the company was mostly manufacturing its products in China.
