Krka's profit slightly above unaudited results

Novo Mesto, 13 March (STA) - The drug maker Krka said on Thursday that its net profit for 2024 was in fact slightly higher than the figure released in the unaudited report in late January. The Novo Mesto-based group generated EUR 356.2 million in profit last year, EUR 2.8 million more than initially reported.

The net profit was 14% higher than in 2023, while the unaudited results indicated a 13% increase, the group said after the results were discussed by the supervisory board on Wednesday.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) reached EUR 520 million, 3% more than in 2023. Earnings before interest, taxes, EBIT was EUR 1.9 million higher, at EUR 427.6 million.

The final revenue figure remains unchanged at a record EUR 1.9 billion, 6% up from 2023. When presenting the results, CEO Jože Colarič said in January the group "saw sales grow in the majority of our markets, most substantially in region East Europe".

This year, Krka expects to generate a record revenue of EUR 2 billion and a profit of EUR 365 million, some EUR 11 million more than originally planned. It plans to spend EUR 150 million on investment.
