Industrial output up in January

Ljubljana, 10 March (STA) - Industrial output in Slovenia was up by 1.6% in January over the month before and by 3.4% year-on-year. Sales revenue in industry and the value of stocks were also up in annual comparison, the Statistics Office said on Monday.


Compared to December 2024, industrial output in January was up by 3.7% in the electricity, gas and steam supply, and by 1.4% in manufacturing. In mining and quarrying, it fell by 1.4%.

The output increased by 3.4% in investment goods, while it decreased by 0.2% in intermediate consumption goods and by 0.2% in consumer goods.

Compared to January 2024, it increased by 26.7% in mining and quarrying, by 11.4% in the electricity, gas and steam supply and by 2.1% in manufacturing.

Sales revenue in industry was up by 1.7% on the monthly level and by 0.9% in annual comparison. The value of stocks were up by 2.6% in annual and down by 1.5% in monthly comparison.

Industrial output contracted by 1.2% in 2024. This was mainly due to a 20% drop in the electricity, gas and steam supply, while in manufacturing output rose by around 1% and in mining and quarrying by just over 10%.
