Ljubljana, 13 August (STA) - Industrial output in Slovenia was down 2.9% in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period a year ago. Total turnover in industry was down by 1%, while the total value of stock was up by 1.4%, the Statistics Office said on Tuesday.
Industrial output was down by 24.1% in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and by 0.2% in manufacturing, while in mining and quarrying it was up by 14.3%.
In June, industrial output was up by 4.4% in monthly comparison. In electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it went up by 23.7%, in mining and quarrying by 7.9%, and in manufacturing by 3.2%.
Compared to June 2023, it was down by 0.6%, dropping by 1.1% in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, while rising in mining and quarrying by 10.6% and in manufacturing by 1.1%.
Total turnover in June was 2.6% higher than in May, as it rose in mining by 16.8% and in manufacturing by 2.4%. In the non-domestic market it grew by 3% and in the domestic market by 0.9%.
In annual comparison, turnover was up by 0.6%. It was higher in manufacturing and in mining and quarrying.
The total value of stock was 1.1% higher in June than in May and 0.2% higher than in June 2023.
