Ljubljana, 14 October (STA) - HSE, one of Slovenia's largest energy producers, has partnered with more than a dozen municipalities in central and eastern Slovenia to install more than 10 MW of new solar installations, mostly on the roofs of public buildings.
The biggest projects will be in Velenje, where 13 installations with an output of 2 MW will be installed, and in multiple municipalities in the Ormož area, where 28 installations outputting 2.2 MW will be built.
Some of the municipalities such as Celje have formed energy communities, in others the panels will be installed not just on rooftops but also on brownfield sites, for example Zagorje ob Savi, the company said on Tuesday.
HSE, which runs hydro power plants on the Drava, Soča and Sava, is Slovenia's largest producer of renewable energy and says the latest projects reaffirm its position as "the leading player in renewables in Slovenia".
