Ljubljana, 16 December (STA) - Regular petrol sold at service stations outside the Slovenian motorway network will be 0.3 cents cheaper as of Tuesday, at EUR 1.490 per litre. The price of diesel will decrease by 1.7 cents to EUR 1.544 per litre, while that of heating oil will go down by 2.1 cents to EUR 1.138 per litre.
The prices will be in effect until 30 December, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy said. It assessed that regular petrol would cost around EUR 1.570 a litre, diesel EUR 1.625 and heating oil EUR 1.242 a litre if the prices were not regulated.
The excise duties are staying at EUR 0.49693 a litre for regular petrol, at EUR 0.45878 a litre for diesel and at EUR 0.19522 a litre for heating oil.
Sales margins also remain capped at EUR 0.0983 a litre for diesel, at EUR 0.0994 a litre for regular petrol and at EUR 0.08 a litre for heating oil.
The prices of fuel sold off motorways are calculated based on a method that takes into account global fuel prices and the dollar-euro ratio.
The prices at petrol stations along the motorway network can meanwhile be set freely by fuel retailers.
