Fructal net profit grows by 37% to EUR 2.7m

Ajdovščina, 13 May (STA) - The Ajdovščina-based drinks maker Fructal launched a EUR 7 million investment cycle last year to up production capacities, improve efficiency, introduce advanced technologies and accelerate progress on sustainability goals. In 2024 the company also recorded a 37% growth in net profit year-on-year, Fructal said on Tuesday.

In 2024 Fructal generated EUR 47.5 million in revenue and EUR 2.7 million in net profit. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization were at EUR 6.7 million, up by 54% year-on-year.

The company is setting up an additional production line for packaging and a new production line for drinks pouches. This will be the first such production line in Slovenia and will allow Fructal to produce innovative products, the company said. They invested EUR 1.5 million into the line, which is expected to begin production in mid-June.

Last year the company installed a solar plant that produces around 650 MWh of electricity per year, covering 13% of Fructal's electricity needs.

The company plans to set up a second solar plant within two years, Fructal director Goran Medić said, adding that the company aims to have a third of its electricity produced from renewable sources.

Fructal, owned by Serbian Nectar, sells around 340,000 hectolitres of drinks and more than 1,000 tons of food every year. Last year it bought more than 1,676 tons of fruit from Slovenian producers.
