Four hotels for sale in Rogaška Slatina

Rogaška Slatina, 17 April (STA) - Four hotels are currently on sale in Rogaška Slatina, a spa destination best known for healing thermal springs that has been losing ground of late.

Grand Hotel Donat Superior, a four-star hotel with 171 rooms, shops, a casino and pools, is on sale for EUR 26.5 million, shows an ad by the real estate agent 24.nep.

The hotel is currently owned by a Maribor businessman, who has decided to wind down his tourism holdings due to health reasons, according to multiple media reports.

The same agency is selling the much smaller Hotel Slatina and Hotel Medical for a combined price of EUR 10.9 million. Both were built in 2002 and have 34 and 29 rooms, respectively.

Another small hotel with 25 rooms and 11 self-catering apartments called GO is on sale as well. Built in 2008, it is available for EUR 4.7 million.

Rogaška Slatina, popular in particular among Russian and Ukrainian guests, used to be a tourism powerhouse but has fallen behind in recent years, most recently due to the decline in the number of Russian guests following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Russian guests used to account for 40% of all tourists before the war, but now their arrivals have slowed to a trickle with Statistics Office data showing around 100 arrive per month on average.
