Ljubljana, 20 December (STA) - Consumer confidence in Slovenia increased in December, growing by 2 points over November and 5 points over December 2023, data from the Statistics Office (SURS) show.
The annual increase was driven by optimism of consumers about their current financial situation, which grew by 10 points, expectations about household finances in the next 12 months, up 8 points, and expectations about the country's economy, up 1 point.
Meanwhile, expectations about large purchases remained level with December 2023.
In monthly comparison, current financial situation of households increased by 7 points and expectations about the country's economy by 3 points. Financial expectations in 12 months increased by 1 point, while expectations about large purchases decreased by a point.
SURS also said that the consumer confidence index had been below average throughout this year.
