Chamber of Commerce forms council for internationalisation

Ljubljana, 17 October (STA) - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS) has established a Strategic Council for Internationalisation, saying it will aim to enhance the identification and exploitation of opportunities in international markets and foster closer connections between Slovenian companies and foreign partners. The council will be led by Žiga Vavpotič.


"Our main objective is to ensure that Slovenian companies receive the necessary support for international expansion, helping them grow and strengthen their global presence," Marjana Majerič, the GZS's executive director for strategic development and internationalisation, said at the council's inaugural session.

Natalija Stošicki, director of strategic development and internationalisation, added that the GZS was committed to expanding its role in internationalisation. She highlighted the importance of strategic cooperation between businesses, the government, research institutes, and universities for success.

"The creation of the council represents a significant step forward, as we clearly defined goals to enhance the global reach of Slovenian companies," she is quoted as saying in a press release from the GZS.

The council, which includes representatives from leading export firms, will be chaired by Žiga Vavpotič of consulting firm Bora partners, while the vice chairs are Dušan Olaj of tensile structure solutions company Duol, Sonja Šmuc of data acquisition technology provider Dewesoft, and Borut Čeh of laboratory equipment and solutions provider Labena.
