Ljubljana, 26 August (STA) - Business sentiment improved by 1.2 percentage points in August compared to the revised data for July and by 4.6 percentage points year-on-year and is now roughly in line with the 2010-2020 long-term average, shows data published by the Statistics Office on Monday.
The August improvement was driven by all five confidence indicators. The indicator measuring confidence in retail grew by 12 points, confidence in manufacturing grew by 1 point and in construction by 4.
Indicators of confidence in services and consumer confidence stayed level compared to July but still contributed slightly to the overall improvement.
The year-on-year increase in business sentiment came largely on the back of higher consumer confidence, which grew by 10 percentage points. Confidence in manufacturing grew by five and in services by four points.
The indicator of confidence in retail lost three points and confidence in construction lost one point.
